KVUE REDEDICATES NEWSROOM TO CAROLE KNEELAND
Austin, Texas – KVUE-TV is dedicating its newsroom to former news director and vice president of news, Carole Kneeland. A journalistic visionary, Kneeland helped establish standards and practices that were ahead of their time. She established criteria for how crime is reported, mentored young journalists, and led with a servant heart. Her spirt lives on through The Carole Kneeland Project for Responsible Journalism, a training program for news leaders across the country.

AUSTIN, TX – A select group of newsroom managers from across the United States arrives in Austin this week for the 25th-anniversary class of The Carole Kneeland Project for Responsible Journalism, a program that has worked to strengthen broadcast news leadership and improve local news coverage around the country.

CAROLE KNEELAND: A LIFE OF INSPIRATION
Dave McNeely, lifetime Kneeland board member, author, and long-time political reporter for the Austin American Statesman, was Carole’s husband for the last 15 years of her life. Like many of us who believe that Carole’s spirit, integrity, and values have lived on through The Kneeland Project, Dave believes that the work of our Kneeland Fellows in newsrooms across the country helps keep Carole’s vision alive.
