Being a local news director is arguably one of the toughest jobs in America, and can be one of the most isolating. One of Kneeland’s fundamental principles is the belief that having news directors communicate with each other in an open, honest manner is incredibly valuable. The connections they make as Kneeland Fellows to other news directors, who share their values, challenges, and struggles, can be a life-saver for these journalists.
