Dick Mallary retired from Gannett Co. Inc. in February, 2005. He was a member of the Gannett Broadcast Operating Committee, and was the Senior Vice President responsible for WUSA-TV, Washington, DC; WTSP-TV, Tampa-St. Pete; WZZM-TV, Grand Rapids; and WBIR-TV, Knoxville. He also had corporate oversight responsibility for news, marketing, and research.

Before joining Gannett’s corporate staff in 1989, Mallary was corporate news director of Cox Broadcasting (1975-1980), news director of WSB-TV, Atlanta (1980-1983), Vice President/News of KUSA-TV, Denver (1983-1986), and a news consultant with Frank N. Magid & Associates (1973-1975) and Audience Research & Development (1986-1989).

Mallary graduated with B.A. and M.A. degrees in journalism from The Pennsylvania State University. He and his wife, Vicki, live in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
